Families may request to switch from one scholarship program to another once per school year. Switching allows a family to move their student from one scholarship program to another during the same school year. It's important to remember that families may request one scholarship switch per school year and must meet the eligibility requirements and applicable deadlines for the new scholarship program. Can I change my mind after submitting a scholarship switch?
No. Once a scholarship switch request is submitted, it cannot be reversed. If your student has already been presented for funding through their current scholarship, they cannot return to that scholarship during the same school year, even if the new application is not completed or the student is later found ineligible.

Remember, all program switches require DOE approval, and total funding cannot exceed the annual scholarship amount of the new program.

What happens to my current scholarship if I switch?
Once a switch is submitted, your student's current scholarship cannot be accepted again for the remainder of the 2026-2027 school year. For example, the current scholarship remains active through Quarter 2, but your student cannot return to that program after the switch is processed. Remember, the current switch window closes on Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. ET.
