Many Step Up students are eligible to receive free computer/tablet and free internet service
Many students who receive scholarships through Step Up For Students may be eligible to receive a free computer or tablet and up to five years of free internet service.
Families that receive Medicaid, Medicare, free and reduced lunch, food stamps or other services are automatically eligible.
The service is federally funded through the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which gives families access to the internet and connectivity in certain communities across the United States.
The service provider, Heritage Wireless, will provide each qualifying Step Up scholar with a tablet.

The application should take less than 10 minutes and the approval response typically occurs within minutes. Once approved, your FREE equipment will be delivered within three to five business days. There are no shipping or handling fees required.
Money shouldn’t be a barrier to getting online. With affordable internet services, students no longer need to rely on public Wi-Fi hotspots to do their homework, for distance learning, or for additional remediation programs.
